LANDMARKS ARC DE TRIOMF + Sharon Garzón


The Arc de triomf (English: triumphal arch) is an archway structure in Barcelona. It was built for the 1888 Universal exhibition, by architect Josep Vilasecas i Casanova.

It's 30 metres long.

The triumphal arch has been used like a finish line for some popular races like the Jean Bouin or the Marathon. Many tourists make routes around Barcelona and one of the place that they visit is this monument. The triunphal arch is situated next to the Ciutadella park, which is very beautiful and where you can have a pic-nic and visit the zoo .".

Landmarks Daniel Rivas Ciutadella Park


Ciutadella park was for many years the only park in the city of Barcelona. It was built on the grounds of the fortress (ciutadella)of the city, hence the name Ciutadella.
The military controlled the city of Barcelona from there and attacked when there was a rebellion.

Currently, the Ciutadella Park is an enormous park in Barcelona where you can relax, picnic, lie on the grass, play... Some groups of people play djembe there.
Inside its walls is the Barcelona Zoo and various buildings that survived from the ancient fortress.The park first opensbefore 9:00 am and closes when it gets dark

LANDMARKS CASA BATLLÓ + MONICA





Casa Batlló

The casa Batlló is a building restored by Antoní Gaudí, built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1905-1907, located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia.
The facade is fantastic. It tells the story of Sant Jordi and the dragon. The dragon ate all the young girls in the village and Saint Jordi killed him.
The roof represents the dragon's back.
Look at the windows. They represent the bones of the poor girls which the dragon has eaten.
Irregular oval Windows and flowing sculpted stone work.
